Music is always on when I work. Sometimes I make a mark and don’t move on. I go back to it. I try it again. I change it slightly. Then again. It’s not about planning. It’s about seeing where something can go. This painting came from that process. The same movement, pushed a little further each time. Riff is about staying with an idea long enough to let it change.
